Impeachment Vs. the Economy – Battleground 2020 – 5/30/2019

If Democrats go with impeachment, nothing will get done. We saw that in 1998, when Republicans went after Bill Clinton they did not legislate. Now, we need to make a clear distinction here. Bill Clinton was impeached on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. President Trump never committed either of these crimes. The Problem here is that the Democrats NEVER wanted or expected Trump to win, no matter what they did to stop him. But Win He did. WE all voted for him because we needed someone who loves America to stop the death Train that Obama was commandeering. Trump was elected by US the People, and NOT by the Russians as the Democrats would have you believe.

The Democrats did not like that Trump won and started the Russia Collusion Hoax. Adding insult to injury, we find out that Obama had been spying on almost eveyone in the Trump administration.

Here is a quote from Tucker Carlson Opening monologue on Fox News a year ago:

TUCKER CARLSON: Just a year ago all of the smart people were mocking Donald Trump for being insane enough to suggest the Obama administration had surveilled or as he put it wiretapped his campaign. What a paranoid lunatic they said, ‘Get off Twitter!’ Yeah. Now we know what actually happened.

The question at this point is how many Trump’s people weren’t spied on by the FBI. Trump advisor Carter Page was placed under government surveillance in the fall of 2016 after the feds used uncorroborated claims from the Trump dossier to justify a FISA warrant.

We know from Congressional testimony that Page spoke to Trump advisor, Trump campaign manager Steve Bannon while he was being spied on, meaning Bannon was likely spied on too.

Tonight, based on our own reporting, we can tell you that Carter Page also sent email messages to members of the Trump campaign during that same period. Presumably, the FBI intercepted those as well.

Suddenly it looks like the Obama administration may have spied on a significant portion of the Trump campaign team. Just how many people were surveilled and to what extent? How much did President Obama know about that? We still don’t have the answers to those questions, though we definitely have the right to them. Oh, no we don’t, say Democrats. Asking questions is a sign of disloyalty to this country.

The very people that once told us that spying absolutely never happened are now telling us that spying was perfectly justified and normal. Why? Because Russia. Okay, but the funny thing is almost all of the Russian collusion evidence unearthed recently implicates Democrats, not the Trump campaign.

Yesterday we learned, for example, Senator Mark Warner (D) of Virginia was secretly sending text messages to a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch in hope of making contact with making contact with the dossier author Christopher Steele. Warner tried to hide that correspondence. I, “would rather not have a paper trail,” he texted in the oligarch’s lobbyist. Now, traditionally, in Washington anyway, no paper trail is not an indicator of transparency. In fact, it’s a sign of wrongdoing.

Now we’re not saying that Senator Warner ought to resign his seat and face treason charges. And we’re not saying that because we’re not hysterical liberals willing to poison international relations and misuse the Justice system just for cheap political antics. But we do think that Warner’s behavior is worth knowing more about…

A remarkable new New York Times story just published about 40 minutes ago. That story alleges just within the last year American intelligence agencies paid a spy — apparently a spy working for the Russian government — $100,000 in American tax dollars in exchange for unverified and possibly fabricated information about President Trump.

Now, why would our intelligence agencies use our money to do something like that? Why would they do anything like that under any circumstances and by the way what was the information they gathered used for? None of that is clear at this hour.

Here’s what is clear right now. The bottom line in what we learned this whole week, the one thing worth taking away from a dramatic week in Washington is this: The Obama administration spied on a rival political campaign. There had better be a legitimate reason for doing that but increasingly it looks like there wasn’t.

So, we continue with the Trump Economy and find this out. PRESIDENT TRUMP’S economy is moving like a freight train. The unemployment rate is the lowest since 1969. There are more jobs than there are people to fill them. Statement from the White House:

The stellar April jobs report further demonstrates how President Donald J. Trump is delivering results to American workers from nearly every demographic across the country.

THE WASHINGTON TIMES EDITORIAL BOARD: Good News for Nearly Everyone

“The monthly employment figures compiled by the Labor Department were out on Friday, and they’re stunning by anyone’s measurement… The good news is reflected across every level of the population. Minority unemployment continues at record low levels; Hispanic unemployment, at 4.2 percent, is at the lowest ever, down from 13 percent in the Obama years. Unemployment has diminished to the vanishing point even for high-school drop-outs. Another good sign is that wage growth has been highest in the low-wage industries.”

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL EDITORIAL BOARD: Growth and the Working Class

“Friday’s labor report showed employers added 263,000 jobs in April as the unemployment rate dropped to 3.6%, the lowest in five decades. The best news is that the biggest beneficiaries of this tight labor market are the folks who struggled during the slow-growth Obama years… less educated Americans are experiencing faster wage and job growth. Many of the robust job gains came in businesses that hire those with less education… Believe it or not—and liberals won’t want to admit it—the evidence is that the faster economic growth of the last two years is reducing income inequality.”

WASHINGTON EXAMINER EDITORIAL BOARD: Trump-Era Economy: A Rising Tide Is Lifting All Boats

“And so here’s why this week’s economic numbers are so great: Clearly, at last, that the regular guy is gaining. Americans without bachelor’s degrees (a standard definition of the working class) have just recorded their lowest unemployment rate in almost two decades… Manufacturing wages were up 2.9% year over year, the greatest rise since 2003… Trump has gotten government out of the way, for the most part. In turn, American energy and enterprise has created a rising tide that is lifting all boats.”

LEWIS UHLER AND PETER FERRARA IN THE WASHINGTON TIMES: Trump’s ‘Blue Collar Boom’ Continues

“The most salient point of this recovery is that it is raising wages the most for the least-skilled American workers at the bottom of the economic ladder. That is actually reducing inequality, exactly the opposite of Mr. Obama’s rhetoric and policies. That is because booming economic growth is the root of prosperity for working people, the opposite of socialism, which produces only poverty, most for the least-skilled workers.”

PHILIP KLEIN IN WASHINGTON EXAMINER: Last Time Unemployment Rate Was This Low, Most Americans Weren’t Born Yet

“The U.S. unemployment rate has gotten so low, that most Americans were not alive the last time it was at this level. On Friday, the Department of Labor reported that the unemployment rate dipped to 3.6% in April, which was the lowest level since December 1969. That means anybody younger than 49 years and four months hasn’t been alive long enough to see the unemployment rate this low.”

ADAM BRANDON IN THE WASHINGTON TIMES: ‘Expert Opinion’ Is Wrong Again

“Thanks to Mr. Trump and the GOP’s pro-growth agenda, and despite the partial government shutdown, Americans from every demographic are finding success in today’s economy. With more than 2.6 million African-American-owned businesses in the United States today, the past two years have been a boon for African-American entrepreneurship like never before…At the same time, the past two years have been extremely good for women in the workforce and the economy. More than half of the jobs created since January 2018 have gone to women, and women’s unemployment is down to 3.8 percent. Pro-growth economic policies have benefited Americans of all stripes more than any government program ever could.”

TIANA LOWE IN WASHINGTON EXAMINER: April’s Jobs Report Parties Like It’s ’69

“April’s Bureau of Labor Statistics report couldn’t possibly spell better news for the American economy. Employers created 263,000 jobs last month, some 40% higher than what economists surveyed by the Wall Street Journal had anticipated. Our seasonally adjusted employment rate plummeted to 3.6%, a level not achieved since 1969. Most astounding is the nation’s wage growth. Average hourly earnings have increased by 3.2% over the year.”

So, MOVE FORWARD A YEAR, the Russian collusion is no longer part of the conversation. It’s gone! But the democrats are working hard to cast a dark cloud over President Trump’s Administration, just because they want to stop his 2020 reelection.

The Trump economy is doing great. President Trump is raking in billions of dollars from the tariffs he imposed on China for stealing U.S. intellectual property and for manipulating their currency to offset the tariffs to cheat. The Democrats don’t seem to understand or want to understand that China steals our intellectual property and by manipulating their currency, they are robbing us blind. This is a blatant violation of the World Trade Organization rules that Beijing agreed to when it joined the WTO in December, 2001. Every time we raise our tariffs, they weaken their currency. We will see where this ends.

Russia Collusion Hoax and Witch Hunt:

So last Thursday night, May 23, 2019, President Trump gave AG Barr full authority to declassify any documents related to surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016. President Trump also ordered the intelligence community to cooperate with AG Barr. As we know, during a Senate hearing AG Barr did state that “spying did occur. The question is whether it was adequately predicated” and that it was his “obligation” to review whether there was misconduct in the original investigation. He also stated: “spying on a political campaign is a big deal.”

So, mysteriously, yesterday, as what seems to be in retaliation for the Declass, comes Robert Mueller and he decides to make a statement. Everyone came out with their version of what they think Mueller intended to do with this ‘STATEMENT’.

SO, below is a statement from Alan Dershowitz:

The statement by special counsel Robert Mueller in a Wednesday press conference that “if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that” is worse than the statement made by then-FBI Director James Comey regarding Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential campaign. Comey declared in a July 2016 press conference that “although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”

Comey was universally criticized for going beyond his responsibility to state whether there was sufficient evidence to indict Clinton. Mueller, however, did even more. He went beyond the conclusion of his report and gave a political gift to Democrats in Congress who are seeking to institute impeachment proceedings against President Trump. By implying that President Trump might have committed obstruction of justice, Mueller effectively invited Democrats to institute impeachment proceedings. Obstruction of justice is a “high crime and misdemeanor” which, under the Constitution, authorizes impeachment and removal of the president.

Until today, I have defended Mueller against the accusations that he is a partisan. I did not believe that he personally favored either the Democrats or the Republicans, or had a point of view on whether President Trump should be impeached. But I have now changed my mind. By putting his thumb, indeed his elbow, on the scale of justice in favor of impeachment based on obstruction of justice, Mueller has revealed his partisan bias. He also has distorted the critical role of a prosecutor in our justice system.

Virtually everybody agrees that, in the normal case, a prosecutor should never go beyond publicly disclosing that there is insufficient evidence to indict. No responsible prosecutor should ever suggest that the subject of his investigation might indeed be guilty even if there was insufficient evidence or other reasons not to indict. Supporters of Mueller will argue that this is not an ordinary case, that he is not an ordinary prosecutor and that President Trump is not an ordinary subject of an investigation. They are wrong. The rules should not be any different.

Remember that federal investigations by prosecutors, including special counsels, are by their very nature one-sided. They hear only evidence of guilt and not exculpatory evidence. Their witnesses are not subject to the adversarial process. There is no cross examination. The evidence is taken in secret behind the closed doors of a grand jury. For that very reason, prosecutors can only conclude whether there is sufficient evidence to commence a prosecution. They are not in a position to decide whether the subject of the investigation is guilty or is innocent of any crimes.

That determination of guilt or innocence requires a full adversarial trial with a zealous defense attorney, vigorous cross examination, exclusionary rules of evidence and other due process safeguards. Such safeguards were not present in this investigation, and so the suggestion by Mueller that Trump might well be guilty deserves no credence. His statement, so inconsistent with his long history, will be used to partisan advantage by Democrats, especially all those radicals who are seeking impeachment.

No prosecutor should ever say or do anything for the purpose of helping one party or the other. I cannot imagine a plausible reason why Mueller went beyond his report and gratuitously suggested that President Trump might be guilty, except to help Democrats in Congress and to encourage impeachment talk and action. Shame on Mueller for abusing his position of trust and for allowing himself to be used for such partisan advantage.

REACTION FROM THE WHITE HOUSE:

TOM FITTON from Judicial Watch states that Mueller needs to be investigated:

Statement by President Trump:

This entire mess is infuriating. HIllary Cheats by funding the Fake Dossier and working with a foreign MI6 agent, Obama helps, DOJ Mueller and FBI Comey Break FISA laws by allowing the spying of private citizen Trump and then President Trump, they all collude and Congress working with the Media work on destroying President Trump’s character. They have it all tied together in a pretty bow.

Democrats will not work on Healthcare, on Immigration Reform. Democrats will not sign the Trade deal or do anything to Move America Forward.

America needs to support President Trump and help him get reelected. This country is in deep trouble if these kinds of people remain in power. If they do it to Trump, they can put any of us away for any reason, screw the Constitution. It’s all about feelings for the democrats and forget the law of the land. #wwg1wga
