Comments by President Trump (Source USA Today)

“Cindy Hyde-Smith is a spectacular woman. She’s a great senator,” the president said as he embarked on a trip to Florida for the holidays. “She came in and she’s done a fantastic job in a short period of time.”

Trump was asked about the controversy surrounding Hyde-Smith. She has been criticized for both her recent comments that she’d be glad to attend a “public hanging” for a friend and a video that appeared to show Hyde-Smith supporting voter suppression.

“She made a statement, which I know that she feels really bad about it, and was just sort of said in jest,” Trump said. “She’s a tremendous woman and it’s a shame that she has to go through this.”

God Bless President Trump, God Bless Mississippi and God Bless Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith and all involved.

Chattanooga MAGA RALLY LIVE: President Trump Rally in Chattanooga, Tennessee – 11/4/2018

President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence will rally today for Marsha Blackburn for the Republican Senate.

Here is a list of all the issues that Concern Marsha Blackburn for U.S. Senator

When Marsha was 16 years old, she had her first job working at a dress shop. She went to college on a 4-H scholarship and went on to sell educational books door to door for the Southwestern company. It was there that she began to develop her exceptional work ethic, which has become a staple of her career. Along the way, she learned there’s no substitute for ringing someone’s doorbell and listening to what they have to say, a lesson—and practice—she carries with her to this day.

While serving in the Tennessee Senate, Marsha led a statewide grassroots campaign to defeat a proposed state income tax. While defeating the tax, she earned the reputation as a champion of anti-tax and government accountability issues, taking to the airwaves to make the case that government wrongly believes it never gets enough of the taxpayer’s paycheck.Marsha began her elected service career in 1998 as a Tennessee State Senator. Blackburn’s Senate career was marked by her commitment to fiscal common sense and government accountability, repeatedly advocating for fewer regulations and policies that enabled businesses to grow.

Marsha believes the United States Senate is broken. She is running to be our next Senator from Tennessee to straighten up the mess in Washington and remind the Senate that it serves you. It is time for the Senate to fulfill its promises to the people of Tennessee and pass the President’s agenda.

In the Senate, Marsha will:

  • Fight to bring significant tax relief to hard-working Tennesseans;
  • Fight to cut wasteful spending;
  • Fight for our veterans to keep our promises to those who have defended our freedoms;
  • And fight to secure our borders and ensure existing immigration laws are followed.

Marsha is a conservative with a record of accomplishment. She gets things done, and in the Senate, she will fight for Tennessee families every day.

Marsha grew up in Laurel, Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi State University. She and her husband Chuck have been married for 42 years and have two children and two grandchildren.

The Trump Economy Smashes Expectations

Issued on:

The economy continues to smash expectations with strong job creation, rising wages, and soaring confidence thanks to President Trump’s pro-growth agenda.

CNBC: Payrolls Smash Estimates with Gain of 250,000, Wage Gains Pass 3% for First Time Since Recession

“Job growth blew past expectations in October and year-over-year wage gains jumped past 3 percent for the first time since the Great Recession, the Labor Department reported Friday. Nonfarm payrolls powered up by 250,000 for the month, well ahead of Refinitiv estimates of 190,000. The unemployment rate stayed at 3.7 percent, the lowest since December 1969.”

REUTERS: US Weekly Jobless Claims Fall; Continuing Claims Lowest Since 1973

“New applications for U.S. unemployment aid fell last week and the number of Americans receiving benefits was the lowest in more than 45 years as labor market conditions tightened further. … Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 214,000 for the week ended Oct. 27, the Labor Department said. … Claims fell to 202,000 during the week ended Sept. 15, which was the lowest level since November 1969.”

CNBC: Wages and Salaries Jump by 3.1%, Highest Level in a Decade

“Wages and salaries rose 0.9 percent, well ahead of expectations for 0.5 percent. Benefit costs were up 0.4 percent. On a yearly basis, wages and salaries jumped 3.1 percent, the biggest increase in 10 years. … [T]he unemployment rate is now at 3.7 percent, the lowest since 1969, and wage pressures have begun to build.”

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL: U.S. Consumer Confidence Surged in October to 18-Year High

“The Conference Board on Tuesday said its index of U.S. consumer confidence rose to 137.9 in October, the highest level since September 2000. … ‘The Expectations Index posted another gain in October, suggesting that consumers do not foresee the economy losing steam anytime soon,’ she said. ‘Rather, they expect the strong pace of growth to carry over into early 2019.’”

CNBC: Medicaid Enrollment Declines for the First Time in More Than a Decade as Strong US Economy Boosts Income for Poor Americans

“The booming U.S. economy appears to be reducing dependence on federal health insurance for the poor. Medicaid enrollment fell for the first time since 2007, declining by about 0.6 percent in fiscal year 2018 … ‘States largely attribute the enrollment slowdown to a strengthening economy, resulting in fewer new low-income people qualifying for Medicaid,’ said Kaiser, a nonprofit group that focuses on health care and health policy.”

BUSINESS INSIDER: US Economy Grows at Fastest Back-to-Back Pace in 4 Years, Boosted by Solid Consumer Spending

“The US economy grew at a faster rate than expected in the July-September quarter, according to the Commerce Department’s advance report released Friday. Gross domestic product, the value of every good and service produced within the country, increased at an annualized rate of 3.5%; economists had forecast 3.3% growth, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg. With that number, the US economy has its strongest back-to-back quarters of growth in four years.”

AMERICANS FOR TAX REFORM’S ABIGAIL MARONE IN WASHINGTON EXAMINER: Trump’s Tax Cuts Jolt Manufacturing Jobs

“Since President Trump signed the tax cuts, manufacturing has been booming. At least 100 manufacturers have built new facilities, purchased new equipment, hired new employees, and invested in current employees through bonuses and benefit increases. Each has cited tax cuts as the reason for their actions.”

U.S. Economy Creates 250,000 Jobs in October, Beating Expectations Again

Screen Shot 2018-11-02 at 8.49.55 PM.png

New data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) shows that nonfarm payroll employment rose by 250,000 jobs in October, far exceeding expectations by 50,000 jobs. The United States economy continues its longest, consecutive streak of positive monthly job numbers, with employment growth averaging 213,000 jobs per month in 2018—larger than the monthly gains in both 2016 (195,000) and 2017 (182,000). Overall, the economy has added 4.5 million jobs since the election of President Trump in November 2016.

Wages are also rising. Nominal average hourly earnings rose by 3.1 percent over the past 12 months. This is the first time that the 12-month growth in nominal average hourly earnings exceeded 3 percent since April 2009. Nominal weekly earnings growth is an even stronger 3.4 percent over the past 12 months. Both hourly and weekly earnings are rising faster than inflation, which rose by 2.0 percent using the Personal Consumption Expenses (PCE)—the Federal Reserve’s preferred measure, because it is so broad—in the most recent data from September.

Employment gains were widespread, with all industries gaining jobs over the month (see figure below). The last time this occurred was over a year ago (June 2017).  These increases were especially large in education and health services (44,000), leisure and hospitality (42,000), manufacturing (32,000), construction (30,000), and transportation and warehousing (25,000). Since the President was elected, construction and manufacturing have fared extremely well, adding 507,000 and 446,000 jobs, respectively.

A separate household survey released by BLS also shows a strong, healthy economy that is pulling workers off the sidelines. The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.7 percent in October—the lowest it has been in almost 50 years. The unemployment rate for Hispanics (4.4 percent) is the lowest it has been since the series began in 1973. The 3.0 percent unemployment rate for individuals with some college or an associate degree is the lowest it has been since July 2001. Recently, the unemployment rate for African Americans and those without a high school diploma also hit record lows.

As Americans become more confident about their job prospects, they are coming off the sidelines and looking for work. The prime-age (25-54) labor force participation rate—which is an important indicator because it is not driven by demographics, but rather by the strength of the job market—increased by 0.4 p.p. to 89.0 percent among men and by 0.6 p.p. to 75.8 percent among women. This is the highest labor force participation rate for prime age women since July 2009.

Even more importantly, these people coming off the sidelines are finding jobs. The prime-age employment-to-population ratio, which looks at the share of the civilian non-institutional population who are employed, increased this month by 0.3 p.p. among men to 86.2 percent, and by 0.5 p.p. among women to 73.4 percent. For prime-age women, this employment-to-population ratio is the highest it has been since July 2001.

Overall, the BLS Employment Situation report highlights the continued progress the economy has made under the Trump Administration. People are eager to enter or re-enter the labor force and the pace of hiring remains strong, while wages are growing, meaning more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans.

Vice President Pence Delivers Remarks at Industrial Welders & Machinists, Inc. – The White House – 8/8/2018 (audio)

If you look through the jobs sections on line you will see staffing companies hiring Welders, Machinists for jobs in Texas and other states. President Trump has opened the flood gates for training and job creation. America is on its way to a brighter future for those who want to learn a new trade and want to work for their family’s future. A job, an income, food on the table and a clean house. That is all Americans ever wanted.  The rest is cake!  DULUTH, MN

A welder or lit operator is a tradesperson who specializes in fusing materials together. The term welder refers to the operator, the machine is referred to as the welding power supply. The materials to be joined can be metals (such as steel, aluminum, brass, stainless steel etc.) or varieties of plastic or polymer. Welders typically have to have good dexterity and attention to detail, as well as technical knowledge about the materials being joined and best practices in the field –

Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing fusion, which is distinct from lower temperature metal-joining techniques such as brazing and soldering, which do not melt the base metal. In addition to melting the base metal, a filler material is typically added to the joint to form a pool of molten material (the weld pool) that cools to form a joint that, based on weld configuration (butt, full penetration, fillet, etc.), can be stronger than the base material (parent metal). Pressure may also be used in conjunction with heat, or by itself, to produce a weld. Welding also requires a form of shield to protect the filler metals or melted metals from being contaminated or oxidized.

Although less common, there are also solid state welding processes such as friction welding in which the base metal does not melt.

Some of the best known welding methods include:

Many different energy sources can be used for welding, including a gas flame, an electric arc, a laser, an electron beam, friction, and ultrasound. While often an industrial process, welding may be performed in many different environments, including in open air, under water, and in outer space. Welding is a hazardous undertaking and precautions are required to avoid burns, electric shock, vision damage, inhalation of poisonous gases and fumes, and exposure to intense ultraviolet radiation.

Until the end of the 19th century, the only welding process was forge welding, which blacksmiths had used for millennia to join iron and steel by heating and hammering. Arc weldingand oxyfuel welding were among the first processes to develop late in the century, and electric resistance welding followed soon after. Welding technology advanced quickly during the early 20th century as the world wars drove the demand for reliable and inexpensive joining methods. Following the wars, several modern welding techniques were developed, including manual methods like SMAW, now one of the most popular welding methods, as well as semi-automatic and automatic processes such as GMAW, SAW, FCAW and ESW. Developments continued with the invention of laser beam welding, electron beam welding, magnetic pulse welding (MPW), and friction stir welding in the latter half of the century. Today, the science continues to advance. Robot welding is commonplace in industrial settings, and researchers continue to develop new welding methods and gain greater understanding of weld quality.

A traditional machinist is one who can: operate a machine tool; disassemble and repair the machine tool by building new parts such as gears, splines, and shafts from scratch using various machine tools such as mills, lathes, grinders, planers, etc.; then reassemble the machine tool and operate it.

Under the machinist title are other specialty titles that refer to specific skills that may be more highly developed to meet the needs of a particular job position, such as fitter (assembles parts), turning hand, mill hand, and grinder. Some titles reflect further development of machinist skills such as tool and die maker, patternmaker, mold maker, programmer, and operator. Depending on the company, a machinist can be any or all of the titles listed above. A machinist is one who is called on to fix a problem with a part or to create a new one using metal working, plastic, or in some cases, wood.

A machinist is usually called upon when a part needs to be produced from a material by cutting. Such a part may be unique or may be needed in the thousands. This could include a machinery part for a production line or anything that can be made from metal or plastic. Producing a part will often require several steps and more than one machine tool. Each machine tool plays a specific role in cutting away excess material. When large numbers of parts are needed, production planning is required to plan the most logical workflow through a series of machines. Computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines are a special computer-driven tool that can machine a large variety of shapes, and whose use in the workflow depends on the part to be machined.[1]

CNC machines are becoming the standard due to their speed, precision, flexibility, and reduced downtime while changing jobs. Production runs consisting of large numbers of parts are more cost effective and commonly referred to as production work in the trade. Conversely, small production runs are sometimes referred to as prototype or jobbing work.

Production engineers use blueprints and engineering drawings to produce detailed specifications of the part, especially its geometry (shape), then decide on a strategy to make it. Machine tools are then configured by the machinist or toolset and production commences. The machinist works with the quality department to ensure the specifications are maintained in the finished product.[1]

Large commercial organizations often staff machinists on site in a maintenance mode to ensure continuing operations of the production machinery. The labor cost for this role is significantly lower than costs involved with production shutdowns. – Source: Wikipedia

Vice President Mike Pence Delivers Remarks at the DHS National Cybersecurity Summit – The White House – 7/31/2018

The Department of Homeland Security holds a National Cybersecurity Summit at the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House in New York City, N.Y. on July 31.

Officials from the National Security Agency, FBI and the departments of Energy, Treasury and Defense will participate in the event along with experts from the academe and CEOs representing the telecom, financial and energy industries to discuss future initiatives to develop a collective defense model, DHS said Wednesday.

The event will include panel discussions, keynote addresses and breakout sessions aimed at launching DHS initiatives in advancing cyber security and risk management operations for critical infrastructure.

DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen noted that the DHS and private sector share a responsibility on cyber security which she said is “ too big for anyone acting alone.”

According to Christopher Krebs, undersecretary for the national protection and programs directorate, both the government and industry need to move beyond sharing information on cyber threats and “advance efforts to manage risk in a prioritized manner.”
